Hand back and go over Final Exam
Homework:
Assign Quia Activities (2)
To get credit you must spend at least 5 minutes on them - do them several times
RA 10.1 - due Wednesday
Introduced waves
Ways of classifying waves:
transverse vs longitudinal
mechanical vs electromagnetic
People examples of both transverse and longitudinal

Only 4 students got the email and Excel attachment. Had students check their cookie lab results against my Excel spreadsheet. Tried to email the spreadsheet to students so they could check work at home.
While students were checking results, other students did the energy review questions.
Showed Car Crash video.
In Block 1, showed the first 20 min of the video - The Way Things Work
Homework - finish energy questions and check cookie lab.

Tuesday, Jan 19, 2010 Block 3A
Had students check their cookie lab results against my Excel spreadsheet. Unfortunately, some students messed up the spreadsheet by typing in values in the wrong places so subsequent students did not get the correct answers. I should have locked cells, which I did on subsequent versions. Tried to email the spreadsheet to students so they could check work at home.
While students were checking results, other students did the energy review questions.
Showed Car Crash video for last 20 minutes of class. Missed last 2 minutes.

Stamped and went over RA 3.2 in detail
Content Objectives:
Student will acquire confidence and expertise in:
. Using the problem strategy to solve collision problems with elastic and inelastic collisions.
Handed out worksheet on inelastic collisions
Due to the Human Rights Assembly, we had a short period. Many students did not finish the inelastic collision worksheet and I did not have time to go over the elastic collisions.
I did hand out the CD worksheet on momentum.
For homework, students were to finish the inelastic collision worksheet if they didn't finish in class and do the CD worksheet on momentum.
Told students there would be a quiz next time.

Stamped and went over RA 3.2 in detail
Content Objectives:
Student will acquire confidence and expertise in:
. Using the problem strategy to solve collision problems with elastic and inelastic collisions.
Handed out worksheet on inelastic collisions
Students worked on them. When they were done, I checked their work. If there were problems, the students redid the problems until they got them right.
Finished by doing a couple of problems on elastic collisions, followed by a 7 block elastic collision problem where there blocks had equal masses. Showed the "trick" in doing these problems.
For homework, asked students to try out the Quia assignment.
Forgot to give out CD worksheet.
Told students there would be a quiz next time.
